Ladies and gentlemen, I give you: Carly Caplette. Thank god the amazon woman finally conquered the interweb, despite having a fear of technology, her blog is hilarious, not only that, but it’s filled with inspiring stuff. Her art could literally knock the living sweet creation out of you, along side some hilarity, can’t go wrong: http://carlycaplette.wordpress.com/
So today was awesome day. In fact, that’s said with little to no enthusiasm because I had the best write up here about 20 mins ago, and I thought yeah I’ll wait for my images to upload and grab some tea, but little did I know that my browser was going to refresh upon my return. Sigh. Stupid re-writes.
Anyways, in fact I did have a pretty cool day. I was going to go to the Letterpress studio workshop down in the east side but my RSVP wasn’t confirmed, and I wasn’t going to drive an hour and a half to an event and not participate. Yet I declared that today would be analog productive day, so I spent 20 hard earned dollars and two hours at Michaels craft store picking up fancy paper and debating whether or not to give jewelry making a go. Figured I’d leave the jewel making to the gems out there who are better at stuff than me.
While at the craft store, I discovered how freaking awesome Martha Stewart is. Why? Because her packaging is the shit, it’s so cute (I saved it), oh and I bought a bone fold despite it being the only one there. Regardless, bone folds. Do you know what those are? You should you punk, because they’re like the greatest thing in the entire universe. I never realized how badly my life was missing one until today. They’re awesome!!!! (if you look closely it says martha stewart crafts) Evidence of awesome level:
Joann also shared her magic gypsy book making secrets with me today and I hand bound five sketchbooks! Big ones and even little ones for your pocket! YAY!!!! Now if you are lucky enough to know me decently well (I know all of you wish you could know me this well), you know that I’m obsessed with smelling printed documents of any sort. Despite getting funny looks, I generally judge a book by it’s smell, not it’s cover (new textbooks smell the best, and old dictionarys), and don’t even get me started on CD covers (Yesterday I bought a CD that smelled like a hockey rink, it was bliss). Let me just say that these cute little sketchbooks smell like sweet success.
Oh and hey look, being poor and shopping at Winners doesn’t suck! Look what I got for five dollars! BOOKENDS!!! They match perfectly with my room and even go with my awesome tile-graffiti piece from a pal and his rocks cut into mushrooms from the Yukon! <Don’t I sound so hip and artsy? Like maybe I know someone pretty sweet and hip with the times. No not really hey?
Well at least Wallaby (“wall-a-bee”, the sweet I-Grow Christmas present from Heed) is growing a sweet hair do (resembling my own messy mop).

Looking good. You had a determined day.
And, I am jealous of your eye-grow’s hair. Mine has just begun to grow.
I have to say I’m a little jealous of your book ends.
and your bone folder. I could not bring myself to spend ten dollars on a piece of plastic. Let me know how it goes.
my eyegrow got moldy cause I forgot to take off the plastic case. Hes airing out now but might never be the same again. do make the same mistakes I have marc, air out your eye grow before its too late! I also am jealous of your book ends. I have an ampersand fetish and thank you for saying nice things about me! I heart you!
My eyegrow was not doing well until I took it upstairs. My basement was just too cold for it to go. Now its living free of hte greenhouse and growing well.
