The .’s make it sound more serious, but yes, as the title conveys, I must blog more! Goal? Well, the best part about a blog is if you make stupid posts (story of my life) you can always delete them later! So! For this week, until Christmas, maybe I’ll aim for a blog post a day. It might be random, but it happens.
First boring order of business. I finally updated my OSX to Snow Leopard. Hurrah!
Oh and I’m back to work at the web design company again full time! Funny story. All my clocks in my room are set an hour early, so that I wake up and go ‘oh shit I’m late!’ and hurry my butt out of bed. Except today I did that…and didn’t realize it until I was on my way to work, I looked at all the free parking spots and went…HUH!? Turns out I was an hour early. Oh well. Story of my life. Hey at least I looked sharp!
Finally started tweeting more (JessicaLuch_) so look for that fun stuff while I update on my wonderful work day full of epic Neil Young moments.
Well, in terms of what else is new…I rear-ended a lady the other day. Got a parking ticket while I grabbed coffee with a fellow designer, Ivan Cruz, in Gastown after my AMAZING interview with Eric Karj @ SmashLab. Literally too much awesomeness to blog about, so just ask me in real-life (what’s that?) about it. So rad. I felt a bit like a crazed fan, he might have been a bit put off by it, but who cares, man’s a genius! I love how excited some of us students get about meeting some of these designers in the industry we follow. Kind of like Andrew and his hero Aaron Draplin. Evidence of awesomeness=Here!
Also, after a funny turn of events, had a second interview. Made for a great video! Check it out here. Not bad for my first/only movie ever!!!
I’ve finally got a website, just a matter of uploading the content and I’ll be set for the upcoming season! So excited, that was my main goal over the Christmas break. Despite being bogged down by trying to read all my typography books, hit the gym, knit, and make money@work, I’ve surprisingly come pretty far on the site. It’s got a long way to go, but we’ll see how far she gets. Oh I’m totally going to start referring to the website as ‘she’ like a bitchin boat. Booyah!
Oh and hey, final note. Posted a recent project here. It’s called Okanaganfest. Check it out. The website + poster’s backgrounds are hand made from paper + the logo is hand drawn a well as the arrows and such.
